Abdominal trauma refers to harm inflicted on the abdominal region. Indications of such injuries encompass discomfort, sensitivity, rigidity, and discoloration of the abdominal exterior. Potential complications could include hemorrhage and infections. Methods for diagnosis may involve imaging techniques such as ultrasound, computed tomography scans, and peritoneal lavage, while surgical intervention could be necessary for treatment. Injuries are classified into two categories: blunt and penetrating, which may result in harm to abdominal organs. Damage to the lower thorax could lead to injury to the spleen or liver. Both blunt and penetrating wounds can affect abdominal organs and their associated blood vessels. Blunt force trauma may cause blood to accumulate within a solid organ’s structure or in the wall of a hollow organ. When a hollow organ suffers an injury, its contents may spill into the abdominal cavity, leading to irritation and inflammation.
