Mathematics is the science concerning images, numbers and rules. The origin of mathematics is that all things in the universe have images, numbers, rules and Qi (energy). And humans have mathematics cognition organs and abilities as well as thinking abilities. The cognitive feature of science/mathematics is viewing I Ching via I Ching. The unity of mathematics includes the unity of cognition theories, contents, basis, method of mathematics as well as the unifying process of mathematics. The unity of mathematics is the more detailed grand unified theory of the universe. Mathematics is unified into the universe general rule and I Ching. The universe is life, so the leading mathematics of the universe is life mathematics, which includes 0, 1, 2 and 3-dimensional life mathematics. Substance mathematics researches into the substances that form life and it includes 3, 2, 1 and 0-dimensional substance mathematics. Life mathematics is the internal mathematics while substance mathematics is the external mathematics. Research methods of mathematics include internal exploration and external exploration. Mathematical research depends mainly on observing and experimenting while less on logical deduction. I Ching has three layers: holographic layer, life layer and substance layer. I Ching is the basis for all mathematics. Mathematics includes holographic mathematics, life mathematics and substance mathematics. Substance mathematics originate from life mathematics. The evolution process of substance mathematics coincides with the materialization process of human function. Future mathematics is life mathematics and thinking mathematics.
