The Role of Technological Progress in Increasing Water Security in a Water Scarce Region Sharing Water Resources

This paper gives a short account of the water situation in Jordan and discusses the introduced water technologies for making better uses of the very limited water resources of the country. The impacts of the applied advanced water technologies on the water sector users, the environment and public health are elaborated. The resulting social and economic benefits are illustrated and their positive implications to the political stability of the country highlighted.
